Sophisticated English language ability is now a pre-requisite for high-level achievement in fields such as engineering, accountancy and medicine, according to Allen Blewitt, a consultant with Cambridge ESOL.

“These days most companies are operating internationally, and the higher up you go amongst the executives, the better the levels of English will be,” said Cambridge ESOL chief executive Michael Milanovic.
